The 25-year-old Glendale man was spotted by a motorcycle officer last week on Madera Road, the Simi Valley Police Department reported.

According to police, the motorcycle officer saw the driver holding his phone in his lap and “surfing Facebook” while driving in a speed zone of 45 miles-per-hour.

Police say the driver had a blood-alcohol level of 0.16-0.17 percent.

The driver also had his phone in a position that required him to “take his full attention off the roadway,” Simi Valley police said in a statement.

The driver was booked at the Ventura County Jail.

Simi Valley police also arrested a second driver last week who was also using his cell phone while driving and had a blood-alcohol level of .10 percent.
