Rescue Underway to Save Construction Worker Trapped in Excavation Site Hole

Los Angeles firefighters are working to rescue a construction worker trapped in a hole at an excavation site in Beverly Crest.

The incident was taking place in the 1600 block of San Ysidro Drive, spokesman Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department stated in a news alert.

Aerial video from Sky5 showed several firefighters gathered around the hole as they attempted to make contact with the trapped worker.

The worker was inside a 24 inch diameter hole that was up to 50 feet deep, Humphrey said.
