Ventura County and western portions of L.A. County saw light showers of about a tenth of an inch Sunday morning, with increased rainfall expected in the mountain areas, said Robbie Munroe, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Oxnard.

Later Sunday, there’s a 50% chance of rain in coastal and valley areas, with higher probabilities of rain in mountain elevations.

The rain was originally expected to miss L.A. County, but the forecast was revised Sunday morning as cold winds blew the moisture farther south than expected. The wet weather should be over by evening, Munroe said.
