A mother is in critical condition Wednesday after a boat she was riding on with her family capsized off the coast of Ventura.

A family of four left Ventura Harbor about 5:30 a.m. on a lobster-fishing trip, but hit rough waters as they were trying to return, said Sgt. Sagley with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.
The boat capsized, sending the mother, father and two children – ages 10 and 6 – into the water, Sagley said.
The father and two children were OK following the incident, but the mother was in critical condition, Sagley said.
