Officials were in pursuit of a vehicle in eastern Los Angeles County on Tuesday.
Sky5 was first overhead around 5:20 p.m. as the truck with a blown-out tire was merging onto the 210 Freeway from Highway 57, heading east toward Santa Bernardino as the vehicle sent sparks flying behind it.
A large group of California Highway Patrol vehicles were in close pursuit.
A CHP SUV executed a pit maneuver, hitting the back end of the suspect’s truck to push off the freeway in Claremont.
The vehicle careened into a a shoulder, and its driver and a passenger soon exited and surrendered to authorities.
