A helicopter crash was reported in Newport Beach on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The aircraft crashed into a home about one mile southeast of John Wayne Airport, officials there said.
Newport Beach police were alerted to the crash, the department said in an alert issued around 2:10 p.m.
It came down in the 40 block of Egret Court, according to Glen White with the Newport Beach Fire Department.
Residents were advised to avoid the area of Bristol Street and Bayview Place.
According to the airport, the helicopter was a Robinson 44 carrying two passengers.
Police were still en route to the scene and could not report on possible injuries to the helicopter’s occupants or the state of the crash scene.
No further details were immediately available.
