Fire Burning in Granada Hills Shuts Down Westbound 118 Freeway

Firefighters are battling a blaze that has shutdown the westbound side of the 118 Freeway in Granada Hills early Tuesday morning.

The fire could be seen burning over the freeway wall about 8:12 a.m., prompting officials to stop the vehicles.

Firefighters could be seen putting water on the flames from a nearby neighborhood.

Flames appeared to be jumping as high as 30 feet in the air.

There was no word on what may have caused the blaze.
