LAPD in Pursuit of a Moving Truck in San Fernando Valley

Los Angeles Police Department are in pursuit of a moving truck that is driving erratically through San Fernando Valley surface streets on Tuesday morning.

It was not immediately clear why police were chasing the box truck, which was driving at slow speeds in the Van Nuys area shortly after 8:20 a.m., Sky5 video showed.

The aerial video footage showed the driver swerving across lanes and driving on the wrong side of the road and avoiding oncoming traffic as the driver appeared to run a red light in one major intersection on Sherman Way.

Around 8:25 a.m., an LAPD officer put a spike strip down near the intersection of Woodley Avenue and Sherman Way as the moving truck passed. It was unclear whether the truck had hit the spike strip, as it continued to travel on Woodley, gaining speed on the surface street as it passed a railroad crossing.

Check back for updates on this developing story.
