A man’s nude body found on the beach led to the discovery of a deceased woman in a nearby vehicle in Long Beach early Monday morning, prompting an investigation, police said.
Authorities discovered the man’s body with a gunshot wound to the upper torso around 5:50 a.m. on the beach in the 5400 block of East Ocean Boulevard, according to Long Beach Police Department Sgt. Brad Johnson.
The deceased man was naked when police found him, Johnson told the Los Angeles Times.
As investigators combed the area, they found a woman’s body in an SUV that was parked nearby, Johnson said. It was unclear how the woman died, and whether the two deaths were related.
Neither person has been identified.
Homicide detectives are investigating both cases.
No additional information was immediately released.
