In a heartbreaking loss, the Los Angeles Dodgers fell to the Houston Astros in Game 7 of the World Series Wednesday night.
It was a chance for the Boys in Blue to bring home their first title since 1988 – during the first-ever Game 7 at Dodger Stadium. But ultimately they could not do it.
The Astros won 5-1.
Houston took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning, then earned three more runs in the second. The Dodgers, meanwhile, repeatedly stranded runners, finally earning a single run in the sixth inning.
It is the first World Series title for the Astros since the franchise began play in 1965.
It would have been the Dodgers’ seventh.
